Asian Pearl Kitchen: Reviews & Ratings
Chinese banquet tables are always fun. We had 10 people, so it was the typical lazy susan round table with a ton of yummy food. Hot and sour soup to start. I think it was prepared well, though I'm not a huge fan of this kind of soup. Do you like Hainan chicken? It's the lightly colored blanched kind that you dip in soy sauce with garlic, ginger, and scallions. One of the "cleaner" tasting Chinese dishes you will have. You can't go wrong with stir fried steak and veggies in black bean sauce. And of course Peking duck with the buns is a Chinese dining staple. For something a little more hearty we had the salt and pepper spare ribs which is pork dipped and deep fried in batter. Walnut shrimp was creamy with perfectly honey-glazed walnuts. Long life noodles are usually kind of plain but there's was quite tasty. And of course we needed veggies, so we had baby pea greens sauteed in garlic and oil. Chinese style family banquet dinners rock. And Asia Pearl Kitchen was pretty darned good.
This place did great dim sum at reasonable prices - fresh and well varied. No wait on a Friday afternoon. Service was completely fine and not rude at all. The enormous LED screen on the wall playing ads was a bit unnecessary though - just turn it off...
Absolutely love this place. Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant nails that perfect blend of big portions, great pricing, and fresh, flavorful cooking. It really feels like a classic 大排档 (dai pai dong) experience — casual, lively, and packed with bold Cantonese flavors. The seafood is fresh and cooked just right — nothing overdone, and everything tastes like it came straight from the tank. From clams in black bean sauce to salt and pepper crab, you’re getting solid execution and quality without the premium markup you’d expect elsewhere. What makes it even better is the service — quick, friendly, and on top of everything, even when it gets busy. Dishes come out hot and fast, and the team is always accommodating with special requests or adjustments. If you’re looking for no-frills, high-reward Chinese seafood with that old-school street food energy, this is the spot. Whether you’re dining in with family or doing a big group dinner, Asian Pearl delivers every time.
Clearly a popular place on weekends. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table but once seated, service was quick and efficient. It seems like most patrons were familiar with the menu and could order rather quickly. That was not the situation for us. We were a table of three and two of us were not acquainted with the menu. Nonetheless, we ordered plenty and had leftovers to take home. The dishes are standard dim sum with my favorite being the warm sesame dessert balls. It's a bustling restaurant with an oversized TV screen that was a bit distracting.
Our group of 8 had a good dim sum lunch here but I don't think it's worth the drive unless you're in the area as there are better choices for dim sum in San Francisco.
Amazing sushi nice calm atmosphere and the presentation was beautiful
Excellent dinner. We came at 7 on a weeknight and there was plenty of space. The live seafood is very cool to see as you get in. The duck was top notch, and the portions were extremely healthy - we had so much leftover. Can’t wait till we come Back!
The squid shrimp dumpling was tasty and lots of shrimp. Taro puff unfortunately came out as cold. The purple rice crispy shrimp noodle was delicious and unique. Saya’s beef tripes were good with pumpkin pieces. Overall the steam dim sum items were quite good. Comfortable spacious seating. On a slightly pricier side of dim sum. Update 10-15-24: Came back for dinner dim sum. Special tonight was soy sauce chicken. It was tasty, better than most Asian restaurants. Dim sum were good. Overall a great dinner spot for dim sum plus something special.
